About the Event

Could a beach hut survive on West Bay into the future?

We are not sure, but with the help of a traveling sea level marker, some local knowledge and a bit of research we hope to find out.

The travelling tidal level marker, is one of a number of timber markers touring Scotland as part of the @RIAS Inspiring futures project. The markers are designed to highlight how sea level rise puts communities and the built environment at risk in Scotland.

We'll be locating the marker in Dunoon on West Bay to help us establish how this stretch of shingle shore could be effected by climate change. We will be doing this with the help of Wendy Brawer of Green Map system, Green Party MSP Ariane Burgess, and members of our local community.

Sat 29th October, 11am. Meet at POP shop, 28 Hillfoot St, Dunoon
