Want to help build a beach hut?

As part of the beach hut project we are delighted to offer 5 free, practical workshops led by local boat builder Ben Neville. In each workshop you will be taken through a traditional construction technique using timber and a range of tools and finishes.

During the workshop you will make part of a prototype hut and this piece will be used in an exhibition taking place on West Bay, July 2022. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the local heritage of beach huts, West Bay and the We are building a beach hut project.

You do not need any prior experience to take part in workshops, just a willingness to learn, ask questions and support this project. Places are free, but limited and are open to anyone over the age of 18. Workshops take place on Wednesdays in a variety of locations in Dunoon including: Dunoon Burgh Hall, The POP shop and West Bay.

The We are building a beach hut project is a community led design initiative developed by Tacit Tacit and a local team of creative practitioners based at the POP shop, Dunoon.

The project is delivered in partnership with the Dunoon Area Alliance and Dunoon CARS project, and aims to involve people living in the area with the regeneration of West Bay through exploring the heritage of beach huts and looking at how the natural and built environment will be impacted by climate change.

What a cool opportunity for Dunoon residents! I live in Britain and love local initiatives like this where you can learn something traditional. I usually plan my weekends around sporting events (I'm a hockey fanatic and follow the schedule here EIHA , but I'm willing to change my plans for the sake of working with wood under the guidance of a master craftsman. West Bay is a great location for this!

One of my mates told me he was messin’ with some online poker, so I thought why not try too. I looked up a few sites and tried 24casino. It worked smooth even on my old laptop. UK folks get some fair bonus offers and free spins. Didn’t feel shady or tricky like other sites I seen. Good for chillin’ out without gettin’ too deep into it.
